(Direct Hydrogen Production by using PV, DHPPV) และแบบต่อผ่านเครื่องควบคุมแรงดันไฟฟ้า (Hydrogen Production by connected with DC/DC Converter Connection, HPDC)

จากการศึกษาพบว่าสมรรถนะทางด้านเทคนิคของการผลิตไฮโดรเจนด้วยระบบเซลล์แสงอาทิตย์ แบบต่อตรง (Direct Hydrogen Production by using PV, DHPPV) และแบบต่อผ่านเครื่องควบคุมแรงดันไฟฟ้า (Hydrogen Production by connected with DC/DC Converter Connection, HPDC) โดยทำการประเมินปริมาตรไฮโดรเจนที่ผลิตได้ในแต่ละวันของเดือน และคำนวณหาประสิทธิภาพของระบบอิเล็กโทรไลเซอร์ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าปริมาตรการผลิตไฮโดรเจนจากระบบ DHPPV และ DHPPV และ HPDC มีค่าเท่ากับ 1,500 ml/day และ 4,300 ml/day ซึ่งประสิทธิภาพของระบบอิเล็กโทรไลเซอร์ในระบบแบบ DHPPV และ HPDC มีค่าเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 3.1 และ 13.5 ตามลำดับ

Viruses are a huge threat to agriculture. In the past, viruses used to be controlled using conventional methods such as crop rotation and destruction of the infected plants but now there are more novel ways to control them. This volume focuses on natural and engineered virus resistance, the two major strategies used for crop protection.

Structural genomics is the systematic determination of 3-dimensional structures of proteins representative of the range of protein structure and function found in nature. This book examines the three dimensional structure of various proteins of a given organism, by experimental methods such as X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.

Structural genomics is the systematic determination of 3-dimensional structures of proteins representative of the range of protein structure and function found in nature. The goal is to build a body of structural information that will predict the structure and potential function for almost any protein from knowledge of its coding sequence. This is essential information for understanding the functioning of the human proteome, the ensemble of tens of thousands of proteins specified by the human genome. While most structural biologists pursue structures of individual proteins or protein groups, specialists in structural genomics pursue structures of proteins on a genome wide scale. This implies large scale cloning, expression and purification. One main advantage of this approach is economy of scale. This book examines the three dimensional structure of all proteins of a given organism, by experimental methods such as X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy. It looks at structural genomics as a foundation of drug discovery as discovering new medicines is becoming more challenging and the pharmaceutical industry is looking to new technologies to help in this mission.

Richard Dawkins’ brilliant reformulation of the theory of natural selection has the rare distinction of having provoked as much excitement and interest outside the scientific community as within it. His theories have helped change the whole nature of the study of social biology, and have forced thousands of readers to rethink their beliefs about life. In his internationally bestselling, now classic volume, The Selfish Gene, Dawkins explains how the selfish gene can also be a subtle gene. The world of the selfish gene revolves around savage competition, ruthless exploitation, and deceit, and yet, Dawkins argues, acts of apparent altruism do exist in nature. Bees, for example, will commit suicide when they sting to protect the hive, and birds will risk their lives to warn the flock of an approaching hawk. This 30th anniversary edition of Dawkins’ fascinating book retains all original material, including the two enlightening chapters added in the second edition. In a new Introduction the author presents his thoughts thirty years after the publication of his first and most famous book, while the inclusion of the two-page original Foreword by brilliant American scientist Robert Trivers shows the enthusiastic reaction of the scientific community at that time. This edition is a celebration of a remarkable exposition of evolutionary thought, a work that has been widely hailed for its stylistic brilliance and deep scientific insights, and that continues to stimulate whole new areas of research today.

Designed for a one-term course, this organic chemistry text helps students see organic chemistry as an interesting and exciting science-and encourages the development of their critical-thinking skills. Bruice presents reactions with enough detail to give students a solid understanding of reactivity, rather than rote memorization. Once students understand the reasons behind the reactivity of organic compounds, they will be better prepared to understand the reactions involved in such areas as metabolism, PCR, and genetic engineering. The Second Edition has been revised throughout to make the material more accessible for students.
